iConverter Copper to fibre Media Converters

iConverter 10/100Omnitron iConverter managed copper to fibre media converters provide seamless integration of copper and fibre in Enterprise, Government and Carrier networks. Omnitron iConverter media converter modules support a wide variety of protocols, data rates and cabling media types for flexible fibre connectivity in diverse network topologies. iConverter models support advanced switching capabilities and iConverter Fibre to Fibre NIDs feature integrated management and carrier grade fault detection capabilities.

 

iConverter Fibre to Fibre

iConverter XFFFibre-to-fibre media converters are compact devices that provide seamless integration of different fibre types by converting multi-mode fibre to single-mode fibre, and dual fibre to single-fibre. Fibre-to-Fibre media converters extend network distance by converting wavelengths (1310 to 1550), amplifying optical power, and can support the “Three Rs” to Retime, Regenerate and Reshape the optical signal.

 

FlexPoint™ Unmanaged Media Converters

Omnitron FlexPoint OverveiwUnmanaged fibre media converters are compact network devices that provide copper-to-fibre and fibre-to-fibre conversion for flexible fibre network connectivity. The self-contained FlexPoint unmanaged fibre media converter modules can be used as desktop or wall-mounted standalone units, or be rack-mounted using a 5-Module shelf or a 14-Module powered chassis. The media converters are AC powered, and can be DC powered (18-60VDC) by attaching an optional DC power supply. Network administrators can mix and match media converter modules in a chassis for fibre access in a variety of network configurations.

 

miConverter Miniature Media Converters

miConverter S-SeriesEthernet fibre media converters with a miniature form factor provide cost-effective and reliable fibre connectivity from network switches to desktop PCs or portable laptops. A variety of miniature unmanaged media converter models are available for copper to fibre connectivity. A special USB power adapter cable allows the miniature Ethernet media converters to be powered by a USB or USB 2.0 port, eliminating the need for an electrical outlet. The media converters are also available with external AC power supplies, and are available in US or a variety of International models.

iConverter Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing

iConverter CWDM/XOmnitron’s Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing (CWDM) Multiplexer/Demultiplexer modules support ITU-T G694.2 CWDM wavelengths between 1270nm to 1610nm in 20nm increments. They are protocol and rate transparent allowing up to sixteen services up to 10Gbps each to be transported across the same fibre link. iConverter CWDM MUX modules are designed to be integrated with other iConverter media converters and transponders to provide a true multi-service platform capable of delivering Ethernet, TDM, SONET and other services across a single-fibre or fibre pair CWDM common link.

 

OmniLight LGX CWDM/DWDM Multiplexers

OmniLight 5 Channel Single-Fiber CWDM Multiplexer/DemultiplexerThe OmniLight™ family of passive optical products consists of standard LGX® chassis and passive CWDM/DWDM optical modules that provide a scalable, flexible and high-density solution for distributing wavelength services. OmniLight modules can be installed in a 14-Module LGX Chassis that supports 14 full-size LGX modules or 28 half-size LGX modules, or a 3-Module Rack-Mount Shelf that supports 3 full-size LGX modules or 6 half-size LGX modules.

 

iConverter T1/E1 Multiplexers

iConverter T1/E1 MUX/MiConverter T1/E1 MUX products multiplex up to sixteen independent T1/E1 circuits and Ethernet from copper links onto a fibre link or Ethernet Virtual Connection (EVC). Designed for mobile backhaul, and T1/E1 demarcation extension up to 120km, iConverter T1/E1 multiplexers are available in modular or fixed chassis configurations with 4, 8, 12 or 16 T1/E1 ports.

 

OmniConverter Power Over Ethernet Media Converters

OmniConverter GPoE/SE and GPoE+/SEOmniConverter multi-port media converters with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) enable distance extension over fibre for PoE Powered Devices (PDs). Classified as Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE), PoE media converters can provide power to one or two PoE Powered Devices using standard UTP cables that carry the Ethernet data. OmniConverter media converters support IEEE 802.3af PoE (15.4W), IEEE 802.3af PoE+ (34.2W) and up to 60W PoE. They also support dual or single RJ-45 ports, dual or single fibre ports, and 10/100 or 10/100/1000 data rates.

 

Network Interface Devices (NID)

iConverter XM5 Network Interface DeviceConverter NIDs provide MEF Carrier Ethernet 2.0 Certified Compliant demarcation for wholesale Ethernet, 4G/LTE mobile backhaul, small cells, business services and cloud services. These state-of-the-art NIDs enable new CE 2.0 services and reduce operating costs with automated service provisioning and testing. Carrier Ethernet 2.0 is the next generation in the evolution of Ethernet services, and is defined as “networks and services that enable multiple Classes of Service and manageability over interconnected provider networks”. These three service attributes of Multiple Classes of Service (Multi-CoS), Manageability and Interconnect reflect major new capabilities of E-Line and E-LAN services, as well as the addition of new E-Tree and E-Access services.

Omnitron Chassis and Mount Options

All iConverter modules are hot-swappable and can be installed in a 19-Module (2U) or 5-Module (1U) rack-mountable chassis with any combination of redundant AC, 24VDC or 48VDC power supplies, providing a scalable solution that is space-efficient and cost-effective. They can also be mounted in a 2-Module AC or 18-60VDC powered chassis, or in a 1-Module AC/DC powered chassis.

 

Omnitron SFPs

Omnitron SFPOmnitron’s Small Form Pluggable (SFP) and 10 Gigabit SFP+/XFP optical transceivers are interchangeable, compact media connectors. They enable a single network device to connect to a wide variety of fibre and copper cable types and distances. Pluggable Optical Tranceivers are used to customize iConverter®, FlexPoint™, OmniConverter™ and miConverter™ products to meet specific networking protocols and media requirements. They support multimode dual fibre, single-mode dual fibre, single-mode single-fibre, Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing (see the CWDM Optical Transceivers) and Unshielded Twisted Pair copper cabling.
